White Paper
Summary
What We Do in IContentIC:
a) Defining Problem: many users of websites (e.g., university websites) cannot access or find their required information on the website without googling, asking social media, or asking staff). it is even more difficult for foreign background users (Our Articles: 1, 2, 3). The main reasons are:
- Website designing needs special techniques which are more than technical jobs.
- There is a lack of a systematic, logical, humanistic method and tool for a content organization based on multiple users. Currently, it seems a huge content is just left on the internet environment (named websites) and users are responsible to find it by googling or trial and error. Ads are making money by growing competition in: [What is found faster]
b) Suggesting Solutions: We developed a model by integrating human science into the design to enhance the validity of a website as a source rather than just the section of internet space. As our solution, we defined the following assumptions: (Articles, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8).
- Website users are adult learners. Pedagogy and Andragogy explain how the human mind receives, processes, memorizes, and analyzes information, values, and skills and transforms them.
- Every user is important. Users with different backgrounds are right to access information.
- User’s journey can be predicted. Understanding and analyzing users (generally and specifically) needs, and expectations help web designers to predict moving forward.
- We use technology meaningfully and focused way to help the process of understanding the content and lead to the goal not as eyes break time or decorating a web page
c) Performance: We do our work based on scientific results and not trial and error. We already implemented our work on some projects (e.g., Article: 9). We are seeking more projects, especially for organization and content-based websites to show the validity of our method.
d) Benefits: Our method is saving time and effort for
(1) users find information faster, easier, and more trust from the original website not googling and asking social media, to get paid, biased and expired information
(2) website owners have. fewer challenges with confused multiple users.
(3) web designers have a systematic method that can be updated easier.
